Youth Voices for COP30

As COP30 unfolds in Belém, our Youth for COP 2025 participants are bringing powerful reflections to the forefront through their blogs, sharing how the climate crisis is unfolding across their home countries — from India, Nepal, and Bangladesh to the Dominican Republic. Each piece captures the urgency of climate change impacts, national priorities, and community stories, while connecting them to the broader global dialogue on climate justice and action. Some of these exceptional blogs have been featured on The Climate Reality Project India & South Asia website, highlighting the depth, insight, and passion of our young climate voices. Through their writing, these participants are inspiring world leaders to act boldly and reminding us all of the shared responsibility to create a sustainable and equitable future.

Workshop 1: My Voice, Our Movement – Arts-Based Advocacy for Climate Justice

Held on 11th October 2025, the first workshop of Youth for COP 2025 centered on the transformative power of arts-based advocacy in advancing climate justice. Led by Shrutija Saxena, Founding Director of Kala aur Vakalat, the session invited youth leaders to explore how personal identity, lived experience, and creative expression can shape compelling climate narratives. Participants engaged with the concept of intergenerational equity and examined how storytelling, visual arts, and performance can amplify marginalized voices and mobilize collective action. Through interactive exercises and reflective dialogue, the workshop empowered youth to craft advocacy that is authentic, inclusive, and rooted in justice. If you’re passionate about creative approaches to climate engagement, this session is a powerful starting point.

About the Program

Empowering youth to engage in policy making and negotiations is imperative in today's world. The Climate Reality Project India & South Asia is collaborating with partners who share a commitment to nurturing the next generation of climate leaders. Through "Youth 4 COP," our aim is to equip young minds with essential skills and empower them to contribute to a better future for all. Today's youth are the stewards of our planet, holding the key to effecting meaningful change. Our program seeks to provide young participants with a deeper understanding of COP processes and deliberations. They will be trained to articulate their ideas, concerns, and solutions effectively, ensuring their voices are heard. Furthermore, they will learn how to navigate the complexities of the COP platform, preparing them to actively participate in future deliberations. This pioneering initiative endeavours to cultivate leadership skills among youth participants encouraging them to ignite change through capacity building workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and networking opportunities.
